Dr Jitendra to inaugurate ‘National Startup Festival’ at Jammu on Feb 22

JAMMU: Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology; MOS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, Vice President of CSIR, and Chief Guest of the function will inaugurate “National Startup Festival” being organized by CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, on Saturday, the 22nd February at the Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

Giving details about the function, Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director CSIR-IIIM, Jammu, in a press meet, informed that as a part of continued efforts towards promotion and fostering the startup ecosystem in the region, “National Startup Festival”, in which a total of 50 startups drawn from all over India, will showcase their innovations and technologies in various sectors such as Healthcare, Agri-based, Nutraceuticals, Women Startups, Tech-based, Services-Based and other consumer products.
Dr. Jitendra Singh has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest at the event. It was also informed that among other dignitaries, Satish Sharma, Cabinet Minister, J&K Govt. Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, and ARI & training departments, along with Heads of Scientific and Academic Institutions from across the country, would be participating.
It was informed that Padma Shri Prof. Vinod K. Singh, Chairperson, Recruitment & Assessment Board (RAB), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and Institute Chair Professor of Chemistry at IIT Kanpur, Dr. Prabodh Kumar Trivedi, Director, CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow, Dr. Ajit Kumar Shasany, Director CSIR-NBRI, Lucknow, Dr. Srinivasa Reddy, Director CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad, Dr. Sudesh Kumar Yadav, Director CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, Dr. Jitendra Kumar Managing Director, DBT-BIRAC, have already confirmed their participation.
Dr. Zabeer Ahmed informed that a key focus of this event is to empower local youth, students, women, and farmers from the Jammu region, including districts such as Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, and Samba.
The event is organized with the patronage of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, under overall supervision of Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, assisted by his team of Scientists.
