Yudhvir visits fire-ravaged Maheshpura Vegetable Market, assures full support to affected vendors

JAMMU: BJP leader and MLA East Constituency, Yudhvir Sethi, on Tuesday visited the vegetable market at Maheshpura in Bakshi Nagar to take stock of the tragic fire incident that left the entire market gutted. The blaze, which erupted in the early hours, reduced the bustling marketplace to ashes, leaving dozens of vegetable vendors devastated.

Expressing deep concern over the loss suffered by the vendors, Yudhvir Sethi personally inspected the site and interacted with the affected shopkeepers. He observed that the entire market had been completely engulfed by flames, resulting in the total destruction of goods, stalls, and livelihoods.
Yudhvir assured the aggrieved vendors that he stands firmly with them in this hour of distress. “I will take up the matter with the concerned authorities on priority to ensure that adequate compensation is provided to every affected vendor. We will also explore possibilities of rehabilitation and restoration of the market at the earliest,” he said.
He further emphasized the need for improved safety measures in all market areas to prevent such incidents in the future and assured that he would raise this issue at appropriate forums.
The BJP leader was accompanied by local BJP workers and concerned citizens, who joined him in expressing solidarity with the fire victims.
He was accompanied by ex Corporator Dr Akshay, Raman Sharma Swati Sharma Mandal president and Govinda Ashok Kumar.
He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of small traders and vendors who are the backbone of the local economy.
